Meet the School Council Nominees
The nominees for the open parent representative position on the Greenwood School Council introduce themselves below (in alphabetical order). The election will take place at Back to School night on September 17th.
Marlena Maier
I am a parent to two Greenwood students (grades K and 2) and appreciate the opportunity to serve on the School Council. I have volunteered to assist in Field Day planning for the past 2 years and helped out when needed for class trip chaperoning & crafts. Currently I am assisting in planning the 2019 Halloween Dance. Outside of Greenwood, I enjoy spending time with my family, I work full time and am chapter president of an industry professional organization. As a member of the School Council I would strive to provide achievable input to the School Improvement Plan.
Heather McCarthy
Hi, I am a mom of three, life-long resident of Wakefield, and work part-time as an engineer leading projects for a medical device company. I have been involved in the Greenwood School community as a room parent over the past 5 years (my son Ryan is in 5th grade) and will continue to be a part of this amazing community over the next 5 years (my son Brady is in second grade and my daughter Quinn is in Kindergarten)! I am ready to become more involved at this time and feel my background and enthusiasm for learning makes me a great candidate for Parent Representative for the Greenwood School Council.
Brandon Moulton
I am a father of three, 2 of our kiddos are currently attending Greenwood and the third will be starting in two years. My goal would be to preserve our traditions and character of the school, while exploring and implementing innovation that supports our children’s growth. Thank you for your consideration.

I have 2 kids here at Greenwood, 2nd and 4th grade. I'm a part-time finance manager and business consultant. I'm extremely passionate about sustainability, and finding ways to improve areas that benefit people and the community we live in. My latest project has been the implementation of the School Food Rescue program, which supplies food pantries with wholesome food that would otherwise be discarded, and made possible by the support and collaboration of various community members. I currently volunteer with the Red Cross and Heart Association as a certified CPR instructor; prior volunteer experience also includes opening and managing a bilingual preschool/early education center, which involved working directly with EEC/state regulators. I hope to bring my passion, versatility and dedication to the Greenwood Council!
Melissa Quinn
I'm Melissa Quinn and I have a third grade daughter in Mr. Wallace's class. I'd like to represent Greenwood's parents on the school council. I'm easy to approach, responsive and most of all committed to seeing Greenwood reach its full potential. With experience in academics, management consulting and a deep love for this amazing community, I know I can bring a unique perspective to identifying students' educational needs, adopting educational goals, reviewing the school building budget and helping create a school improvement plan. Thank you for your consideration.
BOKS is Back at Greenwood!
Volunteers are needed for Greenwood’s fall BOKS session, which will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays, September 24 through October 31, from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. BOKS is a free, before-school, fitness program designed to give kids a body and brain boost that will set them up for a day of learning. Registration for the BOKS program will begin Monday, September 16th— information will be sent out in next week’s Gator Tales.
